The Chattish app for Shopify is the easiest way to put the guide on your store. It creates your Chattish account and guide, adds the guide to your theme without any code, and sends Chattish your products, collections, pages, blog posts and policies whenever you publish or change them.
Install the app
- Install Chattish from the Shopify App Store.
- In your Shopify admin, open Apps → Chattish and click Create my guide. Only the store owner can do this step. Chattish creates an account for your store with the email of your Shopify account, so there's no separate sign-up. Your domain is verified straight away and the first map of your store starts.
- Turn on the Chattish app embed in your theme. The app has a button that opens the theme editor at the right place: switch the embed on and click Save.
- Choose a plan in the app. The Free plan needs no payment.
The app shows a setup checklist, your conversations and the questions visitors couldn't find answers to. Click Open full dashboard to see everything at chatti.sh. You can also sign in at chatti.sh with the email of your Shopify account.
Plans and billing through Shopify
Stores that create their guide in the app pay through Shopify, not with a card on chatti.sh.
- Pick or change your plan in the app (Apps → Chattish). Shopify shows the price and any trial before you approve the charge.
- The charge appears on your Shopify bill. Invoices and refunds go through Shopify.
- In the Chattish dashboard, Plan & usage shows your plan and usage, with a Change plan in Shopify button that opens the plan page in your Shopify admin.

Already have your site in Chattish?
If your store's domain is already a site in your Chattish account, connect the app to it instead of creating a new guide. That site keeps its plan and billing on chatti.sh.
- In the Chattish dashboard, open the site, go to Integrations and click Create connect code on the Shopify card. The code works once and expires after 10 minutes.
- In Shopify, open Apps → Chattish, choose I already have a Chattish account and paste the code.
- Turn on the Chattish app embed in your theme, then click Verify domain in the app.
Uninstalling
- Guide created in the app: the guide stops appearing on your store and Shopify ends the subscription, so your Chattish workspace moves to the Free plan. Your site map and conversations are kept, so reinstalling picks up where you left off. About two days after you uninstall, Shopify asks apps to delete store data, and we then delete the site and its data.
- Connected with a code: the app disconnects and the guide stops appearing on your store. The site stays in your Chattish account with its plan and data.
Prefer to paste the snippet?
You can also add the guide without the app: in Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes, click ⋯ next to your live theme, then Edit code. Open layout/theme.liquid, paste the snippet from the Install page just before </body> and click Save. Chattish then picks up new pages with its nightly check once your domain is verified.
Check that it works
Open your storefront, then click Verify installation on the Install page in Chattish.
