There are two ways to put the guide on a WordPress site. The plugin is the better one: besides adding the guide, it verifies your domain and keeps Chattish up to date when you publish, edit or delete posts and pages.
Option 1: the Chattish plugin (recommended)
You need WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.
- In the dashboard, open your site and go to Integrations. Under WordPress, click Download the plugin (.zip).
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip file, install it and click Activate.
- Back in the Chattish dashboard, click Create connect code. You get a code like
ABCD-EFGH-JKLM. It works once and expires after 10 minutes. - In WordPress, open Settings → Chattish and paste the code.
That's it. The plugin adds the guide to every page, verifies your domain and sends all your published content to Chattish. From then on, new and edited pages are sent when you publish them, without waiting for the nightly check.
The Settings → Chattish screen also shows the sync status and has buttons to Sync all content now, Verify domain and Disconnect.
Option 2: paste the snippet with WPCode
- Install the free WPCode plugin (Plugins → Add New, search "WPCode").
- Go to Code Snippets → Header & Footer.
- Paste your snippet from the Install page into the Footer box and click Save Changes.
Avoid editing your theme's footer.php directly: theme updates overwrite it.
With this option, Chattish still picks up new pages with its nightly check once your domain is verified.
Check that it works
Open any page of your site, then click Verify installation on the Install page in the dashboard.
